  • What did you do this past week?

This past week, I worked on Deque a little bit as well as wrapping up the IDB project for my Software Engineering Class. For the most part, this week has also been a little more relaxed compared to other weeks; however, a lot of work is due today (Sunday) so that might be subject to change.

  • What’s in your way?

As we near the end of the course, I do think that a lot of classes are going to conflict with each other in terms of work. I hope that I will find a way to get everything done on time somehow. Not going to lie, I do really want this class to end quickly so I can get on with my summer.

  • What will you do next week?

Next week, I will hopefully finish off the last project on time. I think my partner and I fell victim to procrastination once again so I will have to look for a partner pretty quickly and get started on the next project promptly. Also, there are some presentations for my Software Engineering class so I will have to do those as well. Lastly, I got a driving test to get my license (I know it’s pretty late) so I’ll have to do that as well.

  • If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #7: What Happens to Us?

I read Paper #7: What Happens to Us and honestly I was a little disturbed by how much some men were able to get away with in their workplace. Women should never have to feel uncomfortable like the women in the paper did in their workplace. There definitely needs to be some sort of culture change to resolve the issue.

  • What was your experience of vector, allocator, and deque? (this question will vary, week to week)

I honestly felt that I understood how vectors, allocators and deques work pretty well. At first, I was confused about the behavior of certain constructors but a little in-class review definitely helped clear up some confusion.

  • What made you happy this week?

I felt pretty happy when watching the new Space Jam movie with my friends. Personally, I liked the movie… it’s silly and goofy which is my type of movie for sure. And also as a basketball fan, it was funny to hear all the little inside jokes that were dropped in the movie that not everyone may have caught.

  • What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My pick of the week is the new Steam Deck that was announced this week. Essentially, it’s a small PC in the form factor of a Nintendo Switch. It can run PC games but the most impressive part is that it can also act as a regular Linux computer as well!
